Trying out budget friendly makeup! Primark make-up first impressions.

Recently I’ve noticed Primark have really upped their game and have come out with a whole new collection of make-up, and I have to say it looks amazing! So I thought I would try some of it out today by doing a full face, and let you guys know what I thought in a little review. I’m a big fan of testing out budget friendly makeup as I think a lot of the time it’s just as good as the more costly products!

My perfect colour foundation:

The foundation I absolutely love! I’ve been wearing it every single day since I discovered it, as I’ve found it doesn’t go oily or patchy throughout the day. The colour was really easy to match, and honestly I cannot fault this foundation one bit!

Insta Girl rice powder:

The powder was okay, not the best I’ve used and isn’t as good as a loose powder as it takes a lot to actually take away the stickiness of my foundation. I absolutely cannot stand the feel of un-powdered foundation so I needed to use a lot of this and I felt like I had to keep digging my brush in to get some product. That being said, it did last on my face all day at work so all in all, it wasn’t too bad.

Bronzing brick:

I really loved the bronzer as it wasn’t too dark and although it looks glittery, it just gave a healthy glow to my face rather than a line of glitter. This is great as a bronzing topper and I wouldn’t recommend contouring with this.

High pigment blusher

The blusher was exactly as it said on the packaging – very pigmented! It ended up as a pink blob on my cheek when I first put it on, but after blending it out I really liked the colour of it and gave me a lovely rosy glow.

Pure Glow highlighting palette.

For the highlight I got this pure glow palette, and used the light gold shade called glimmer. This highlighter is so pretty, it doesn’t show up in pictures just how blinding this is! All the shades are useable too, as the white can go as an inner corner highlight and the pink can be used for a blush topper for a bit of extra glow. They’re very similar to the Jolie Beauty Second Skin highlighters.

Nudes eyeshadow palette:

The eyeshadow palette I love! It’s the perfect everyday palette and you can get so many different looks from it. I used the warm brown tones in the crease and a bronze shimmer on the lid. These are so pigmented and blended really well together, and I am very impressed with the palette especially for the price.

Eyeliner, mascara and brows:

I really like the liquid eyeliner – it doesn’t smudge or flake off throughout the day which is really good for the price! As with the eyeliner, the mascara was really good. It definitely gave my lashes some length and volume – not loads, but it was definitely there.

I have to admit, I hated the eyebrow pencil! It was so big and creamy that it made my eyebrows massive and look really fake and sticky! I had to take it off and use my normal product. It definitely wasn’t for me!

Chocolate lip kit:

I really liked the idea of the chocolate lipkit – which is an obvious dupe for the Toofaced one! The lipliner I found didn’t really show up much on my lips, so it wasn’t really worth using. The lip gloss was really nice, and tasted just like coco pops! It didn’t last that long on my lips and I had to keep applying it throughout the day, but overall I liked it.

The lipstick mattifyer I actually bought in the sale because I thought it was a primer! But I tried it on my lips anyway and it did actually work! I put it on top of a gloss and it made it look matte! It didn’t make it dry up so it still felt like  had a gloss on but it had the look of a matte lipstick.

I am so unbelievably impressed with this collection of makeup! I liked all of these products – apart from the eyebrow set – and I will get loads of use out of everything I bought. Honestly I think my makeup looked just as good as if I were using high end makeup (apart from the huge eyebrows)!

I would recommend the majority of these products! Let me know if you get any and what you think of it.

Until next time.
