How to make easy face masks- 3 DIY face masks you can make at home!

I recently wrote a blog posts all about making your own hair masks, so I thought why not share some DIY face mask recipes with you. Here are 3 of my favourites:

1. The banana face mask

This face mask claims to brighten skin as well as sooth it, and it works best on oily skin.
You will need:
  • 1 banana, preferably ripe
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp lemon or orange juice
Mash up the banana, then mix in the honey. Add the juice of the lemon or orange. Apply to face for 15 minutes before rinsing off.

2. Cocoa Dream Hydration Mask

“Avocado is extremely hydrating, cocoa is an excellent skin-soothing antioxidant, and honey is antibacterial and anti-inflammatory,” says Holly Monson, spa manager at Ocean Pearl Spa in California.
You will need:
  • 1/4 of an avocado
  • 1tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1tbsp honey
Mash the avocado in a bowl, then mix in the cocoa powder and the honey. Apply to the face and leave on for 10 minutes before washing off with warm water.

3. The exfoliating brown sugar scrub mask

  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of solid coconut oil

This mask acts as both a scrub and a moisturiser. Just mix it together and rub it into your skin in circular motion. leave it for a few minutes and wash off. The sugar scrubs dead skin off while the coconut oil moisturises. It leaves your skin feeling so soft afterwards! It’s amazing.

And those are my top 3 DIY face masks! Have a go at making these and let me know what you think.

Until next time.
