For Christmas I was gifted this make your own bath bomb set from Marks and Spencers, and I thought I would share with you today how it went!
The kit included:
- sodium Bicarbonate
- Citric Acid
- Epsom Salts
- Coconut Oil
- Lemon Verbena Fragrance
- Cornflower
- A pipette
- A mould
All you needed yourself was water, 2 mixing bowls and a spoon.
The method was simple – sieve all the powder ingredients into the mixing bowl and mix. Into another bowl, add the oils and water and mix thoroughly. Using the pipette, add the liquid into the dry mix gradually until it is all mixed in. Fill the mould with the mixture, carefully tip out and place the balls onto a plate to dry. These took about an hour to dry, and then they are ready to use! Here’s how they turned out:I will admit, they did sink abit as they were setting, but overall I think they turned out well! I have used most of these now and they give off a lovely strong lemon scent, although not really any bubbles. These were a big success, and it was a fun activity for Aaron and I to get stuck into on a Sunday afternoon.
Until next time.

Thanks you for the post, I always wanted to learn how to make these. It’s better to make them yourself, than spending tons of money of fancy ones.

That looks really fun! And it’s great that you now have the mould and pipette, so you could make some more bath bombs as most of those ingredients would be quite easy to get hold of, and you could make different scented ones as well by adding different fragrances! I wonder, if you added a bit of bubble bath to the mixture, would that make it create bubbles? Maybe they wouldn’t set so well though!

This looks like such a fun activity to try out! I have thought about trying to make one once or twice using homemade recipes but a kit seems like it would be a lot easier!

I’ve always wanted to try making my own bath bombs and this kit looks great. I love citrus smells so this would be ideal for me, it’s just a shame that they don’t make many bubbles in the tub.
