The Zoella x Colourpop Brunch Date palette!

Hi everyone! I was so excited when I heard about Zoella’s collaboration with Colourpop, I knew I had to get at least one thing from it! I was eyeing up the liquid lipsticks, but it was kindly pointed out to me (thanks Aaron) I already have a million lipsticks in the same nude shade, so why did I need another one!? And I must admit I wasn’t blown away by the look of the blusher and highlighter, and again, I didn’t need any more yet!

So I opted for the eyeshadow palette and one of the supernova liquid eyeshadows in the shade Bellini.

First of all, lets talk about the boxes. The palette comes in this gorgeous box with waffles and fruit printed onto it. I can definitely see the 70’s theme coming through with the colours and font used, and the whole design overall is really cute. The inside of the box has little fried eggs printed onto it, which I think is such a cute extra touch. The little supernova eyeshadow box has pancakes dotted all over it, again with the egg pattern on the inside.

The palette itself is gorgeous. It’s got waffles, eggs and pancakes all over the outside and around the mirror. The shades are stunning, and are a mix of mostly neutral mattes and shimmers, with a random blue shade. To be honest I know I wont get much use from the blue shade, but all the rest I love!

The shades are called (in order of swatches):

Champagne Toast, Pancakes Please, French Toast, Skinny Latte, Cinnamon Sugar, Mimosa, Maple Syrup, Sundae Funday, Sunny Side Up, Americano, Brunch Club and Extra Slice.

For this makeup look I used the shades Maple Syrup, Mimosa, French toast and Skinny Latte, and then a tiny bit of Champagne Toast in my inner corner. I then decided to go over the shimmer with the Supernova liquid shadow in Bellini, which is absolutely stunning! The eyeshadows are really good quality and blend really nicely, even the darker matte shades which I sometimes struggle with. The shimmers are to die for! Honestly, they are amazing!

I know there has been a lot of controversy with this collection and I’ve seen a lot of comments saying she’s scamming her fans, but news flash – you can see the product you’re buying and even better – you don’t have to buy it! So I don’t see it as a scam, especially as the products are such good quality and not very pricey!

I am honestly really impressed with the items I got and I know I’m going to get so much use out of them. The shade range is so up my street, I wear these types of colours every day.

Let me know your thoughts on the collection and any items you think I should try!

Until next time.

  2. I was curious when I clicked on this post because I was like “What kind of shades make up a “Brunch plate?” I love the shades and the unexpected shade of blue inside!

  3. This looks like such a great palette. I love the cute design but the shades aren’t ones I typically wear, I usually go for pinks, purples and blues. I love the look you’ve created with this palette though, the shades really suit you.
