Hi everyone!
I was recently reached out to by SOiL who asked if I wanted to try out some of their organic essential oils. I have never really tried essential oils before, and didn’t know much about them, so I thought I would give them a go. I opted for the tea-tree, de-stress and sleep scents.
Firstly, a bit about essential oils and what they are used for:
“A true essential oil is the volatile (readily vaporised) liquid component of aromatic plants and trees. Our therapeutic grade essential oils are either produced on our farm or sourced from other certified organic distillers. By knowing the exact source of our oils, we can be confident that they are 100% pure, certified organic and unadulterated.
We package our essential oils and aromatherapy products in amber glass bottles to protect them from UV light, which can degrade the oils.”
They can be used in a variety of ways:
Baths – Add 5 to 10 drops of oil into a warm bath. Close the door so the vapours don’t escape. Soak for at least 10 minutes, relaxing and breathing deeply. For added moisturising, dilute the oil in 10ml of carrier oil before adding it into the bath.
Massage – Add 5 to 6 drops of oil per 10ml carrier oil. Mix thoroughly and apply liberally to the skin
Inhalations – Add 4 to 5 drops of essential oil to a bowl of steaming water. Place a towel over your head, close your eyes and lean over the bowl. Inhale the vapour for a few minutes.
Burners & Diffusers – Fill the bowl of the burner/vaporiser with water and then add 3 – 6 drops of essential oil. Light the candle and the oil will evaporate as the water heats up.
Tea Tree organic essential oil
The main reason I wanted to try out the Tea Tree oil was because it is known for it’s antiseptic and antiviral properties. I have acne prone skin and often suffer with breakouts, so I thought this would be perfect as a face steam. It is also good for colds and flu, using the inhalation method, so will be perfect when it gets to the autumn/winter months.
Organic Essential Oil Sleep Blend
“This a relaxing, soothing and cosy scent of Lavender, Bergamot, Sweet Marjoram and Vetiver organic essential oils. This blend will help to leave your everyday stress behind and prepare you for a restful healthy sleep.” I thought this one would be great in the evening in an oil burner to help relax before bed. Perfect if you have trouble sleeping.
De-Stress Blend
“This is a soothing blend which has been expertly created with our very own Grapefruit, Clary Sage, Cypress and Cedarwood organic essential oils. The SOiL De-Stress blend will help to reduce anxiety, manage stress and re-energise your wellbeing.” This one I added to a bath to help de-stress. This is a very strong smelling oil but it really helped me relax.
Overall I really enjoyed using these oils, and they definitely did their job. Thank-you to SOiL for sending me out these to try.
Until next time.

One of my favorite things about going for massages is the smell of the oils she uses – it’s SO relaxing. Although I haven’t had a massage in months due to the pandemic, I miss them so much! These oils sound lush!

I love the benefits of tea tree oil! I used the oil on my acne breakouts when I was younger. As you say, it’s also amazing for cold and sore throats! I have never used them in diffusers/oil burners before. Thanks for introducing me to this brand with lots of variety! xxx

I love using essential oils too. I mix jojoba oil, rosehip oil lavender oil and a few drops of tea tree oil. It is great as a moisturizer. I also massage a little on my hands with special attention to cuticles and nails. 🙂

I love using my essential oils in a diffuser but never thought to put them in my bath (which makes sense as so much bath stuff has them in it). I could create my own mix for it! Thanks for sharing!

Essential oils have so many great benefits! Since starting to incorporate them into my life, I have managed to pull myself off my allergy meds 99% of the time as I am able to control my allergies using peppermint oil. I love that I’m not pumping chemicals into my body all the time now.
