Hello everyone! I don’t know about you, but when it comes to makeup, highlighters are one of my biggest weaknesses. I just cannot resist them sometimes! I have seen a few people trying out the Jolie Beauty Second Skin highlighters so I’ve had my eye on them for a little while, and so when they recently reached out and asked if I’d like to try some out of course I jumped at the chance! I was sent the shades Saintly and Dreaming, which are both for light/medium skin.

A bit about the brand

Jolie Beauty is made up of a team of makeup artists that have worked for some really big beauty brands themselves. They wanted to create unique and high performing products for artists to add to their kits, as well as being suitable for everyday use by non-makeup artists. These products are designed to suit any budget, and have been trialled and tested countless times to make them perfect.

What I love most about this brand is they are 100% cruelty free and strive to use vegan formulas as much as possible. They also donate to a range of animal charities on a regular basis.

Second Skin Highlighters

Jolie Beauty have a whole collection called the ‘Second Skin Collection‘, which is centred around creating more of a second skin effect rather than multiple layers of product sitting on your skin. The collection includes bronzers, blushes and highlighters, with a great shade range.

I am obsessed with the packaging of these highlighters! They are rose gold with the logo on the lid, and the pan is a really great size for the price of the product. I also love that they have a mirror in, I think it adds to the luxury feel of the product. They have a really lovely lightening symbol embossed into the pan which is a lovely touch.

The lighter shade of of the 2 I received is called Saintly. This is a lovely light champagne shade that creates a gorgeous sheer glow rather than being glittery. This one is slightly on the light side for me, however it’s great for wearing on my brow bone, cupid’s bow and down my nose.

The slightly darker shade is called Dreaming, and is the perfect shade for my skin tone. It’s a warmer champagne shade compared to Saintly, and again it’s a lovely shimmer rather than glitter.

Final thoughts

I really love these highlighters! They really do give you that ‘lit from within’ look rather than a glittery stripe that some others can give. These retail at £16.99 each which is a great price for the size and quality of the product, as well as how luxury the packaging feels. They don’t feel cheap at all and the packaging is really sturdy so isn’t going to break easily. I also found these highlighters last really well on the skin throughout the day.

Have you tried anything from Jolie Beauty?

Until next time.

  1. WOWOWOW these highlighters have got my name on them! These look ideal for that Spring glow we get when we see the sunshine for the first time in an age. I’ve not used any highlighter all winter, because why not and also I’ve never been paler!!

This post not only has gorgeous snaps and great info, it’s also got me buzzing for Spring!

  3. Sounds like a great product. i have only recently started using a highlighter and I am amazed about the difference it makes.

Although make up wearing seems like a long time ago, I need to make an effort before I forget how to put it on!
