A February skincare haul and trying out new products!

Hello everyone! I don’t know what it is, but I am absolutely OBSESSED with skincare at the minute. I’ve had quite problematic skin in my adult years – not so much as a teenager – and I’ve suffered on and off for many of my adult years with hormonal breakouts around my chin. It’s never anything too serious, but the red scars seem to linger for quite a long time.

One set of products which has honestly worked wonders over the years is the tea tree range by The Body Shop, but as soon as I stop using it, my face gets worse again. I’ve been using this range again for a couple of months and my skin has definitely started to clear up, so I thought I’d treat myself to some new skincare bits to add into my routine. I also did a small skincare haul back in April which you can see here.

Feel Unique

I had a little look on Feel Unique because there was one item in particular I had seen they had on offer.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm

I have seen so many youtubers using this so I really wanted to try it out, but no chance was I spending THAT much money on a pot of product which, let’s face it, gets washed down the sink. Especially if I ended up not liking it. I saw this little travel sized pot was on offer for a about £7 something instead of nearly £10, so I thought I’d get it and see what all the hype was about. I will admit having now tried this, it is a really lovely cleansing product and I wish I could justify spending that much money on a full size, however I have cleansers that I prefer that aren’t that expensive.

Elemis Peptide Thousand Flower Mask

While I was in the Elemis section, I came across this mask which I thought looked nice. Again, this was on offer for a couple pounds cheaper than it should have been, so I got it to try out. This size will probably only last a couple of uses but it wasn’t too expensive so that’s alright. When I tried this out, I was not expecting it to be black for some reason I assumed it would be white or clear. It’s a very mousse like product which also wasn’t what I expected, but overall I really loved this face mask. My skin felt really soft after using it.

Revolution Skincare pink clay detoxifying mask

I am a sucker for facemasks and always love picking up new ones whenever I see them. I really loved the look of this pink clay one so definitely had to get it. It’s a really lovely mask – it smells really nice and it left my skin feeling really soft afterwards. It’s also a really lovely colour too!

Revolution Skincare blemish & pore refining serum

This really reminded me of the Ordinary products where they have the chemicals written on the front. What drew me into this was the words ‘for blemishes’ and I thought I have to give that a go! Anything to help my skin at this point goes into my basket.

e.l.f. Exfoliating scrub

I was after a new face scrub so I had a little look in the e.l.f. section to see what they had, as they are one of my favourite makeup brands. One thing about this brand it they’re really affordable, and this huge bottle of product was under £5. I really love this scrub as it’s not too coarse on your skin, but it has enough roughness to actually feel like it’s doing something.

e.l.f. illuminating eye cream

My current eye cream is almost empty so I got this one from e.l.f. and I really love it. It feels really hydrating and doesn’t make my makeup crease which is great. It’s quite a small pot but I know it will last a while because you only need a little bit of product at a time.

Yes to tomatoes face wipes

These have always been a favourite of mine, which I tend to use in the mornings to freshen up my face before doing my makeup. These are targeted at blemished skin so are perfect for me, and I find they really work on my skin.

La Roche-Posay moisturiser

Feel Unique always include a little ‘freebie’ in their orders, and they sent me this moisturiser for oily and acne-prone skin. This feels like a really lovely product – really hydrating and not greasy, and goes great under makeup.

Revolution Skincare microfibre face cloths

I spotted these while in the Revolution section and I thought I’d treat myself to some new face cloths. I have a couple of soft mitts already but I like to switch them up every few days so a couple more will come in handy. These come in a little bag which is a really nice touch, and you could use this as a skincare travel bag.

Aldi

Jade face roller

I’ve seen so many people talking about the benefits of these rollers and I spotted one in Aldi when I was shopping so I got one to try. This is really cooling on the skin and it’s great to use when I do a sheet mask to push in the product.

Boohoo

Face Facts gel eye patches

I thought I’d include these under eye patches I got from boohoo when I was doing a clothing order, as technically they’re skincare. These are really lovely and cooling, and help to de-puff and sooth the under eyes.

Are there any skincare products you think I should try?

Until next time.

  1. Really lovely read, I too am really into skin care, I love The Ordinary products they are really affordable. Appreciated your feedback on Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm I’ve been looking at this for a while but was unsure due to the price.

  2. I swear by ELF’s illuminator – I’ve used it in many forms for years and will not use anything else. I ran out of allll of my Elemis bits just before Christmas so think I need to top up my empties!
