This kit was very kindly gifted in order to raise awareness of the event.
As you may already know, I have always been a huge cat lover and have been a long term supporter of the Cats Protection charity. I think the work they do is incredible and I am so grateful to be working with them again this year.
This Christmas, Cats Protection has teamed up with The Makerss to bring you these lovely needle felt kits, so that you can make your own felted cat bauble to put on your tree! There are 4 colour sets to choose from so you can match your bauble to your own cat which I just think is a wonderful idea. There are also different eye colours to choose from so you really can customised it to look like your own cat. These would also make a lovely early Christmas gift for friends or family who have a love for felines!
These kits cost just £20, with £10 going towards Cats Protection’s work to help the UK’s in-need cats
and kittens. With this £10, a cat brought into the charity’s care could receive the worm or flea treatment they require, or it can provide an abandoned cat with a warm and cosy bed while they wait to find their forever home.
Upon purchasing your kit you will automatically receive an invite to take part in a virtual craftalong with an expert from The Makerss, so that cat lovers alike can have a chance to create their bauble and be taken through it step by step. If you’re anything like me and a complete felting novice, this will be a really great way of receiving the guidance you need whilst getting to chat with other cat lovers. This craftalong will take place via Facebook on Saturday 27th November, starting at 10am. If you can’t make it to the live event, you can catch up in your own time as the video will be saved to their facebook page.
I had the opportunity to try one of these kits out for myself, and I’m actually really proud of how my little cat came out. At first I was a bit nervous because I’ve never done felting before, so I didn’t know how well it was going to turn out. The kit comes with all the materials you need to create your cat as well as clear, easy to follow instructions so that even the most novice of needle felters (like me) can take part. It was a lovely activity to do and I really love my cat decoration!
If you’d like to get crafty for Christmas whilst supporting a fantastic charity, you can sign up for your own kit here and join the live craftalong on Facebook on 27th November.
Until next time.
