Over the past year or so I’ve watched as my beauty product collection just grew and grew. Eventually it became a bit of a problem – as I live in a pretty small house, I just don’t have the space for it all anymore, and I certainly DO NOT need about 5 of the same type of product. I’ve recently made it my mission to use up some of the products I already have, mostly half used or on their last legs, before I can buy a replacement for them. I decided to have a proper sort through and put together a pile of bits I’d like to get used up.
I’ve managed to use up a few things over the past month so I thought I’d share with you my thoughts on some of them today.
The Body Shop gentle eye makeup remover
I’ll admit, this is my all-time favourite eye makeup remover and I’m sad to see it go. I have a different one to use up and then I’ll definitely be repurchasing this one. It’s incredibly gentle on the eyes and doesn’t cause any stinging, which I’ve found some others can. Although it’s really gentle, it’s still really good at doing the job and is really effective at removing stubborn mascara.
The Body Shop Tea Tree cleanser
Again, sad to see this one go as I’ve found it’s the best cleanser for my blemish-prone skin. I have a mountain of cleansers to use up but once I’ve run out I will definitely be repurchasing this one.
The Beauty Bay Skin Fixer clay mask
This was a really lovely mask to use, and my skin felt so good after each use. It was really inexpensive as well and I found I didn’t need to use much at a time as it spread really nicely. I would definitely buy this again once my hoard of masks have dwindled a little.
The Skin Techniques charcoal nose pore strips
Nose pore strips are an essential in my skincare routine and I like to try and do these weekly. I did really like these ones however I didn’t notice any difference between these charcoal ones and bog standard ones. I’m not picky when it comes to pore strips and I’ve found most of them do pretty much the same job, so I normally just go with what are cheapest. These were a good price and they did work, so overall they were great.
Aussie Miracle Moist Recharge conditioner spray
This is a staple in my hair routine and I use it every single wash without fail. I’ve repurchased this and am already making a dent in the bottle. This product is fantastic at detangling your hair after washing it. If you’re anything like me after you’ve washed your hair and have had it up in a towel, you go to brush it and get your brush stuck. Use a few sprays of this and it’ll help massively. I definitely notice the difference when I don’t use this – my hair feels so much dry and dull. It smells amazing too!
Batiste dry shampoo
My favourite brand of dry shampoo – it comes as no surprise I’ve gone through one of these! I’m on my way to being finished with a second one soon. I’ve found Batiste is the best dry shampoo for me, and it works the best in my opinion (and I’ve tried a lot)! This was a really nice scent although I do prefer the pink one.
Next Just Pink perfume
I don’t know about you, but I take so long to finish a perfume! i can have them for absolute years and never use a whole one up. I think it’s because I switch between perfumes on a daily basis depending what mood I’m in and where I’m going. I got this one for Christmas a few years ago (after putting it on my list) and I’ve just finished it. This was a really lovely perfume and was perfect for day-to-day. It wasn’t a really strong scent but you could definitely tell I was wearing it.
Dove coconut anti-perspirant
I really loved using this as I thought it smelt so lovely – love anything coconut so of course was instantly drawn to it. I’m actually already on my next can of this and I found it really did the job, and didn’t leave white marks which is great!
Natural Collection matte pressed powder
I have a bit of a thing with powders where I get so far into it and then start a new one. I ended up with about 6 that all had a little bit left in them, so I’ve made it my mission to use them all up. I’ve managed to use 3 so far so I’m doing well! I love the Natural Collection one as I find it works just as well as other brands and is a fraction of the price.
Soap and Glory Supercat skinny liner
If you have read my blog for a while you will know that this is my all time favourite eyeliner. To me, nothing else compares, so you will not be shocked to know hat I have a whole stash of these lined up. I wear winged liner every single day so I was bound to go through at least one of these in this time.
E.L.F Camo concealer
A new contender for favourite concealer is this one by E.L.F. I found this did the job really well and lasted so well throughout the day. I have a little stash of concealers to be used up yet but I will be repurchasing this for when the time comes.
Benefit Bang Gal Bang mascara
I will admit, I wasn’t the biggest of fans of this mascara. It did work nicely however I didn’t get along with the brush and ended up using an old brush from another mascara instead. I am quite picky when it comes to mascara and this one just wasn’t for me.
Revolution The Mascara Revolution
This is my favourite mascara and I’m already onto a new one. The wand is the perfect chunkiness for me and I really love the formulation of the product, and it make my lashes really thick.
I’m sure I’ll be back soon with another empties post as, like I said, I’m on a using up mission to declutter my beauty collection.
Until next time
