I have never been the type of girl to have a consistent workout routine. I always end up loving the gym for a few weeks and quickly getting fed up, and I know a lot of people are the same. For the past 4 months or so, however, I have found myself really committed to upping my fitness game and generally trying to make myself feel and look the best I can. I know we shouldn’t focus on weight and size, but lets be honest that’s why the majority of us start going to the gym and eating better. We want to look smaller and feel healthier, and I don’t think there’s necessarily anything wrong with that. By just making a few changed I am currently half a stone down.
Thought I’d share a little about what my current workout routine is, as well as a few things I’ve been incorporating into my lifestyle.
Exercise
For me, this is one of the biggest struggles. I used to hate going to the gym and would always find an excuse to miss it. I realised it was mostly because I just couldn’t be bothered, and because I just wasn’t interested in going and walking on a treadmill staring at the wall. I decided to try out some classes that are included in my membership and they really have changed the way I look at working out.
Aqua Aerobics
I’ve been going to an aqua aerobics class once a week for months now, and I used to go to it way back in the day and I really do enjoy it. It’s not the most intense workout and I never really feel like I’ve done much work afterwards, but it is a bit of fun and it gets me moving. As it’s the summer holidays I’ve been able to book on for a few different aqua classes during the day which are abit more energetic, and I’m disappointed I won’t be able to attend these once term starts back up again.
Step
One class that I have been really enjoying is step. I do this twice a week and my goodness, it is intense. If you want to feel like you’ve done a serious workout then this is the class for you! It’s so much fun and I love the instructor, she makes everyone feel included no matter what level you’re at. She is always so encouraging when it’s clear that I am struggling which really helps me stay motivated. I’d recommend step to anyone looking for a good fun workout.

Diet
In terms of my diet, I have been focussed on upping my fruit and veg portions and swapping out some of my snacks to healthier ones. Salads have been my go-to for lunches, especially in this hot weather, but in order to keep them interesting I’ve been adding salmon, halloumi and roasted veggies like butternut squash or courgette. I also add some cous cous into the mix to keep me fuller for longer, as I always find having just a salad for lunch can make me snack more in the afternoon. For dinners I’ve been having much the same as what I normally have, sometimes just changing a few bits to healthier versions or adding in some extra veg.
One thing I absolutley love having every morning is a lemon and ginger shot. I make this myself using a popular recipe used by youtubers (I think it’s Lydia Elise Millen’s original recipe but don’t quote me on that). It’s essentially boiled ginger with lemon juice, but I find it’s really great for helping with digestion and it just makes me feel better when I have it.

Vitamins
I was recently sent out a range of vitamin gummies from the brand Novomins to try out and I thought I’d take this opportunity to share them with you, as it’s something I’ve added into my daily routine. There is a huge range available on their website, and so far I’ve tried out 4:
Biotin gummies – contributes to the normal maintenance of hair, skin and nails. Peach flavour.
Vegan Omega 3-6-9 gummies – contributes to normal brain development. Orange flavour.
Women’s Bio-Balance gummies – a blend of friendly bacteria; lactobacillus paracasei lactobacillus reuteri, lactobacillus rhamnosus, calcium and cranberry extract. Calcium contributes to the normal function of digestive enzymes. Strawberry flavour.
5HTP NightTime gummies – infused with Magnesium, L-Theanine and Vitamin B12, Vitamin B5, Glycine, Acerola Cherry Extract, L-Taurine are designed for those that are looking for that perfect addition for their night-time routine. Raspberry flavour.

These vitamins are so easy to take on a daily basis as they’re gummies, perfect for anyone who finds it difficult to swallow tablets. These all taste really good too and seems like you’re eating gummy sweets, so hit any sweet cravings too! One thing I love about the Novomins range is that they have so many different supplements available, and there are a lot of vegan options too which is fab.
Until next time.
XOX
I’ve struggled so much to get back into exercise but this week I started jogging again and went twice! I walk then jog in intervals, but it’s something.

Exercising in the Summer is hard but I love that you’re still doing it! I’ve always wondered what Aqua Aerobics would be like, it’s good to get in the water, even if it doesn’t feel like a proper workout! x
